Let's begin from the beginning: learn how to learn
From August 1 to 6, 2011 in Levico Terme (TN)
The Feldenkrais Method® is a somatic education system centered on movement as a key to the person as a whole.
Through simple moter sequences and a light never invasive touch, people are guided to become aware about the action patterns they are using and later are guided to find out further possibility of functioning in action.
With respect to do a movement, emphasis is put on “how” one does it and not “why”. In this way, people are not driven to think that there is no mistake, but they rather become aware of different ways to learn that come closer to a higher functional control, by improving the kynaesthetic sense, the sense of orientation, coordination and global functional motor skills.
Learning strategies proposed by the Method are:
Group lessons (Awareness Through Movement®), where the learning process is guided by the teacher’s voice, every participant is given the necessary time to assimilate and explore the movement idea and to get used to the new situation.
Individuali lessons (Functional Integration®), where the learning processis guided by the hands of the teacher in a mostly non-verbal dialogue, through a delicate and non intrusive contact taht enables the person to learn with less effort.
The lesson will be in English with Italian translation
